# Oba Femi collides with Bron Breakker in battle for WWE’s futur
– Oba Femi will collide with Bron Breakker in a powerhouse showdown at Sunday Night’s Main Event.
Although the two titans have never faced each other one-on-one, Femi and Breakker have come face-to-face several times since The Ruler emphatically defeated Brock Lesnar in a Hell in a Cell Match at SummerSlam.
When it looked like a brawl was imminent on the Aug. 17 edition of Raw, Paul Hayman suddenly interrupted. Understanding the magnitude of the moment, The Wiseman collaborated with Raw General Manager Adam Pearce to orchestrate their highly-anticipated matchup at Sunday Night’s Main Event.
Femi has been anointed the future of WWE by many, including Lesnar. Breakker, however, has taken offense to such claims.

# Cody Rhodes set to go to war against Randy Orton
– After the wild ending to last night’s SmackDown, General Manager Nick Aldis made an official match between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton for Sunday Night’s Main Event in The American Nightmare’s hometown.
The history between Rhodes and Orton spans 20 years. Perhaps the most explosive chapter yet, however, began when The Viper made a shocking return at SummerSlam and hit QB1 with the RKO that helped prevent him from overcoming Undisputed WWE Championship CM Punk.
When Rhodes returned to SmackDown, demanding answers from WWE’s Apex Predator, Orton shot back that he didn’t owe Rhodes a damn thing. Instead, he said he would make it his mission to ensure The American Nightmare never capture World Title No. 15. In response, Rhodes made it clear that he will kill the Legend Killer by any means necessary.
On the Aug. 14 edition of SmackDown, Orton executed a pre-match attack on Rhodes moments before The American Nightmare was set to face Sami Zayn. A chaotic brawl ensued through Boston’s TD Garden, with both Superstars becoming completely unglued as they attempted to destroy each other.

# Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss & Tatum Paxley vs. Jade Cargill, Michin & B-Fab | Six-Woman Tag Team Match
– At Sunday Night’s Main Event, Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley will face Jade Cargill, Michin and B-Fab in a Six-Woman Tag Team Match.
Flair and Bliss have had issues with Cargill, Michin, and B-Fab for some time. When Michin and B-Fab interfered in Flair’s match against Cargill, though, the odds appeared to even as Paxley literally leaped onto the scene. Now that theory will be tested when the trios battle it out in a Six-Woman Tag Team Match.

# Lil Yachty battles Baron Corbin, attempts to earn U.S. Title Match for Trick Williams
– At Sunday Night’s Main Event, United States Champion Baron Corbin will go one-on-one with Lil Yachty.
If Yachty can last five minutes against the brutal titleholder, then Corbin will grant Trick Williams a United States Championship rematch on the same night.
Corbin made his shocking return to SmackDown in early July by disrupting Williams’ title defense against Carmelo Hayes to hit both Superstars with End of Days.
After smashing Yachty through a table at SummerSlam, Corbin captured the title by hitting Trick with the championship as the official’s back was turned.
Weeks later on SmackDown, Corbin successfully defended the gold against Hayes in a hard-fought matchup, only to have Yachty attack him with a Trick Stick, which allowed Williams to nail the titleholder with the Trick Shot.
Wanting to get a piece of Yachty, Corbin proposed the Sunday Night’s Main Event match with the special stipulation after another altercation that following week.

# First-ever WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event to take place during Labor Day weekend in Atlanta
– As announced during Monday Night Raw, WWE will return to Atlanta during Labor Day weekend for the first-ever Sunday Night’s Main Event on Sunday, Sept. 6, live from State Farm Arena.
Atlanta hosted Saturday Night’s Main Event in July 2025, headlined by a World Heavyweight Championship match between Gunther and WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg in the final bout of Goldberg’s WWE career.

# Quavo to perform at Sunday Night’s Main Event
– As first announced by Complex, Hip Hop Superstar Quavo will open Sunday Night’s Main Event in his hometown of Atlanta, performing an unreleased track off his upcoming album QROMELIFE, due out on all platforms soon.
A lifelong fan of WWE, Quavo has made appearances at WWE Day 1, where his group Migos’ song “Straightenin” was the official theme song for the PLE, took in WWE Bad Blood at ringside alongside Lil Yachty, and Yeeted alongside “Main Event” Jey Uso on Raw in January of 2025.
